“Elke has now taken our engagement photos, maternity photos, and family photos over the last 4 years. She is a family photographer in the truest sense of the word. She strikes a perfect balance between providing enough structure in a session to guarantee good shots, while also taking cues from little ones (and even pets!) and going with the flow. The result is genuine, joyful photos that are beautiful but not overly stylized. She is engaging and warm, even teaching my (at the time) 2 year old how to take a picture with her camera. My daughter had a blast during the session, and had plenty of time to take breaks and run free, allowing Elke to take some great shots of just me and my husband (which are very few and far between in our lives!). “Elke did an engagement shoot for me and my now fiancé on a rainy day on Treasure Island in San Francisco. We could not have been happier with the final product, but what really sticks out in my mind is how easy Elke made everything for me as the nervous proposer. The week of our engagement was very stormy, and I was worried that the rain would ruin the photo opp. When I checked the forecast the night before, the only window of sunlight was 5 hours earlier than planned. Luckily for me, Elke was extremely flexible and was more than willing to accommodate the last-minute time change. When my partner and I arrived that day, Elke was already there waiting after having scouted out the best (sneaky) angle. I had a million things running through my mind that morning, so it was great knowing that Elke had the photography part under control and there was one less thing for me to worry about – truly a consummate professional!

When we received the full slate of photos about a week or so later, we were blown away.
