Elke is a wonderful photographer! She took great photos of my son's small backyard wedding, capturing beautiful memories for us to savor. She also brings years of experience as a school photographer at a middle and high school, where she shot portraits, as well as groups large and small. Elke did a maternity photo shoot for my husband and me, and we could not be happier with the result. Not only are the pictures beautiful (Elke is a master with lighting--even on a foggy day in San Francisco, she somehow captured soft colors and light!), but she was a joy to work with. She followed our desire to keep the shoot candid, fun, and natural, and had many fun and creative suggestions. My husband and I left the photo shoot feeling like we had just had a fun outing! Elke is professional, kind, and extremely talented and skilled. We will treasure these photos for years to come. Elke has now taken our engagement photos, maternity photos, and family photos over the last 4 years. She is a family photographer in the truest sense of the word. She strikes a perfect balance between providing enough structure in a session to guarantee good shots, while also taking cues from little ones (and even pets!) and going with the flow. The result is genuine, joyful photos that are beautiful but not overly stylized. She is engaging and warm, even teaching my (at the time) 2 year old how to take a picture with her camera. My daughter had a blast during the session, and had plenty of time to take breaks and run free, allowing Elke to take some great shots of just me and my husband (which are very few and far between in our lives!). She also checks her work throughout the session and her attention to detail results in a very high ratio of good photos breaking through all the noise. We will continue to have Elke make memories for our family for years to come, and recommend her without reservation.

Truly cannot recommend Elke more highly! She took the most beautiful maternity photos for me and my partner, provided great direction and made us feel so at ease. Posing for photos doesn't always come naturally to everyone, but she made the process so relaxed, fun, and gave perfect direction for creating photos we will truly treasure forever! After this photo shoot we knew we'd be using her to capture all of our big life events going forward! She took precious and joyful photos when my daughter turned one.
And probably most meaningfully she took poignant and meaningful photos of my entire family after my mom was diagnosed with cancer, several months before she passed away.
