I've always loved being behind the camera, capturing snippets of life that other people miss.
In high school my best friend named my camera, saying that because it had its own chair at lunch, it should have a name: Bernard.
Photography has enabled me to more deeply understand the world, people, and cultures - and build bridges rather than walls to celebrate the differences and similarities among us as humans. I gravitate towards telling visual stories through the use of color, patterns, and natural light. Each photo and video tells a story, and I love that anyone, from any culture in the world, literate or illiterate, can feel an emotional connection to a photo or video.
